The Challenge
The original university project relied on a legacy monolith architecture, resulting in slower performance, difficult maintainability, and a dated user experience that was hard to scale.
The Solution
Completely re-engineered the application independently using a modern, serverless tech stack (Vue 3, Neon PostgreSQL, Clerk) to achieve faster load times, robust security, and seamless scalability.
Contributions
- Designed and developed a responsive user interface utilizing Tailwind CSS and Pinia for efficient state management.
- Spearheaded the complete rewrite of the application from a legacy codebase to a modern Vue 3 and Vite architecture.
- Implemented a serverless PostgreSQL database using Neon and Drizzle ORM for optimized data queries and management.
- Integrated the Google Books API to dynamically fetch and display comprehensive book metadata.
- Configured secure user authentication and session management using Clerk.
